Focus and scope

MACC considers articles on all aspects of anesthesiology, critical care, perioperative care, and pain management. MACC encourages authors from any country in the world to submit publications on anesthesia and related subjects. We accept original articles, review articles, case reports, evidence based case report (EBCR), and letters to the editor/editorial.

This journal is distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 License, which allows others to remix, tweak, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under identical terms.

Peer Review Process

All submissions (except editorial) to MACC are subject to a double blind peer-review process. Articles must fulfil all requirements before assigned to reviewers. Reviewers will remain anonym throughout reviewing and publishing process. Every decision from reviewers will be evaluated by the editor before the corresponding author receive the revised article. All accepted articles will need approval from the corresponding author before published on schedule. In which articles published in this journal must obtain its standards and ethical behavior from all parties involved in publishing actions.

Publication Frequency

This journal is published three times in a year (February, June, and October).

Open Access Policy

MACC is an open access journal which provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published articles without charge to support developments in anesthesiology and intensive care medicine. Readers have the right to read, download, copy, distribute or link to the full text of all article in MACC .

Archiving

MACC is accessible without barrier from Portal Garuda (https://garuda.kemdikbud.go.id/) in the event a journal is no longer published. This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

This journal requires to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines in dealing with all aspects of publication ethics, particularly how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct. The Declaration of Helsinki's ethical principles for research should be adhered to in all submissions to this journal, and the Council for International Organization of Medical Sciences' International Guiding Principles for Biomedical Research should be followed for studies using animals (CIOMS).

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication
The publication of articles in peer-reviewed journals is an important foundation for the development of a coherent and respected knowledge network. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method, so it is critical to agree on ethical standards that are expected of all parties involved in all stages of publishing: authors, editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and the society.

Research Misconduct
Research misconduct is the fabrication, falsification, or plagiarism of information when proposing, conducting, reviewing, or reporting research. The misconduct must have been committed on purpose, and the allegation must be supported by sufficient evidence. Misconduct can also include breaches of confidentiality and authorship/publication violations. In cases of suspected misconduct, the editors and Editorial Board will use COPE best practices to help them resolve the complaint and address the misconduct fairly. The editors will investigate the allegation. A manuscript that is found to contain such misconduct will be rejected. If such misconduct is discovered in a published paper, a retraction can be published and linked to the original article.

Policy of Screening for Plagiarism

All submissions to MACC will be screened for plagiarism by the plagiarism checker. We will immediately reject papers leading to plagiarism or self-plagiarism. Before articles are submitted to reviewers, they are first checked for similarity by the editorial team.

Article Withdrawal Policy

Authors can request a free withdrawal of their article not more than two months after submission. If an author wants to withdraw the article from the peer-review process or publication process, the corresponding author must email a formal letter to the editor-in-chief, signed by all authors. The authors should mention their reasons for article withdrawal in the withdrawal letter.

The opinions expressed in MACC are those of the authors and contributors, and do not necessarily reflect those of the Indonesian Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, the editors, the editorial board, or the organization to which the authors are affiliated.

Publication Charge

All reviewing, editorial, and publishing process for Majalah Anestesia & Critical Care (MACC) is  free of charge.

Advertising Policy

Editorial decisions will not be influenced by current or potential sponsors and advertisers, nor will marketing decisions be influenced. Advertisers and sponsors have no control or influence over the results of keyword or search topic searches conducted by users on the website.
